About MemeCore

M is the native coin of MemeCore, a blockchain built for launching meme coins.

MemeCore is a Layer 1 blockchain that presents itself as the home of 'Meme 2.0': the idea that meme coins can become lasting cultural and community assets rather than pure speculation. It runs the same kind of smart contracts as Ethereum. Its mainnet genesis block dates from 6 January 2025, and M was listed on major centralised exchanges in July 2025. MemeCore's team is led by founder and CEO Jun Ahn, and the node software is published by the memecore-foundation organisation.

M is the network's native coin. It pays transaction fees and is staked to secure the chain. The maximum supply is 10 billion M: 5 billion were created at launch and the rest is added through block rewards, currently 30 M per block, or about 135 million M a year. On 27 September 2026 total supply was about 5.42 billion M, of which about 2.28 billion were counted as circulating. The published allocation gives 58% to the community, 15% to the foundation, 13% to core contributors, 12% to investors and 2% to a meme treasury, with monthly unlocks reported to continue into 2027.

Blocks are produced by the 7 validators with the most stake. Holders can delegate M, or meme coins issued on the chain, to a validator and share its block rewards. Each meme coin launched under MemeCore's 'Proof of Meme' model sets aside 5% of its supply for stakers, and part of the block rewards funds grants for meme projects.

Ownership of M is highly concentrated: on 27 September 2026 the 25 largest addresses held about 94% of all M. Trading is thin, at around $1 million a day for a market value of about $2.8 billion. On 24 June 2026 the price fell about 74% within a day with no official explanation; in April an on-chain investigator had publicly questioned why insiders held most of the supply. In August 2026 Nasdaq-listed ZeroStack received about 926 million M, worth $1 billion at the quoted price, in a share deal and appointed a MemeCore principal as its president.
