Liberandum halal verdict

Suitable with care

Not suitableSuitable

BingX offers a spot market with full settlement, but it is mainly a derivatives and copy-trading platform, has no Shariah-certified product or Shariah screening, and holds only registrations rather than major licences. After its September 2024 hot-wallet hack (about USD 43 million by on-chain data) BingX said losses were covered from company reserves. Use spot only and check each coin first.

Use

  • Spot trading only

Avoid

  • Futures, copy trading
  • Savings, Dual Investment, Loans
More details

Spot trading on BingX settles immediately, which is consistent with the requirement of immediate exchange of crypto-assets in AAOIFI Shariah Standards No. 1 and No. 20. Most of the platform, however, is built around perpetual and standard futures, copy trading of leveraged positions, and Wealth products (Flexible and Fixed Savings, Dual Investment, Crypto Loans). Futures, margin and options fail the settlement and gharar conditions, copy trading of derivatives inherits the same problem, and fixed-yield savings or lending is riba. BingX has no Islamic account, no Shariah-certified earn product and no Shariah screening of its catalogue, so each coin must be checked on Liberandum. Reliability is moderate (5.8 of 10). BingX publishes a monthly Merkle-tree proof of reserves (15 January 2026 snapshot: BTC 137 %, ETH 119 %, USDT 147 %, USDC 126 %) and in June 2025 set up a USD 150 million Shield Fund (1,000 BTC, 4,000 ETH, 40 million USDT) with wallet links on its site. On 20 September 2024 attackers drained about USD 43 million from hot wallets according to on-chain data (later estimates run higher); BingX said user assets were unimpaired and losses were covered from its own reserves, and major withdrawals resumed within about a day. Licensing is weak: third parties report an AUSTRAC registration in Australia and a Lithuanian VASP registration, but BingX EU had no MiCA authorisation as of June 2026 (application with Austria's FMA pending) and is not on ESMA's MiCA register. Securities Commission Malaysia placed BingX on its Investor Alert List in December 2023. BingX's own restricted list (last updated December 2023) includes the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore, the Netherlands, mainland China, Hong Kong and several other jurisdictions.

No dedicated halal product

BingX offers no Islamic (swap-free) account and no Shariah-certified earn or staking product as of September 2026. Its Wealth section (Flexible and Fixed Savings, Dual Investment, Crypto Loans) pays interest-like yields or uses structured options and is not suitable.

No token screening

BingX does not screen listed tokens for Shariah compliance and publishes no Shariah-screened catalogue. Listing a coin such as Islamic Coin is not screening, so each coin must be checked on Liberandum before buying.

Step by step

How to trade halal on BingX

  1. Create an account and pass KYC

Register on bingx.com and complete identity verification with an ID document and a selfie. Turn on two-factor authentication in Account and Security.

  2. Deposit without interest products

Deposit crypto from Assets, or buy with fiat via Buy Crypto (bank transfer, card or P2P). Do not move funds into Wealth: Flexible and Fixed Savings, Dual Investment and Crypto Loans are interest-based or structured products.

  3. Check the coin on Liberandum first

BingX does not screen coins for Shariah compliance. Before buying, check the coin's halal status on Liberandum and skip coins marked not halal or doubtful.

  4. Buy on the Spot market only

Open Spot from the Trade menu and place a limit or market order. Spot orders settle in full immediately, which meets the immediate-exchange condition of AAOIFI Shariah Standard No. 20.

  5. Avoid futures and copy trading

Do not use Perpetual Futures, Standard Futures, leveraged tokens or Copy Trading of futures traders. Leverage and deferred settlement fail the Shariah conditions, and copy trading inherits them.

  6. Withdraw to self-custody

For long-term holding, withdraw coins from Assets to a wallet you control. Keep the network and address checks on the withdrawal screen.

    7.0

Monthly Merkle-tree PoR with user self-verification; the 15 January 2026 snapshot shows BTC 137 %, ETH 119 %, USDT 147 %, USDC 126 %. BingX lists Hacken (2025) and Mazars reports, but the monthly snapshots themselves do not name an independent auditor.

  • Licences

    3.0

Third parties report an AUSTRAC registration (BINGX GLOBAL PTY LTD) and a Lithuanian VASP registration (BINGX EU UAB); not confirmed from the registers here. No MiCA authorisation as of June 2026 (application with Austria's FMA pending; not on ESMA's register), no VARA, MAS, FCA or US licence. Added to Securities Commission Malaysia's Investor Alert List in December 2023.

  • Incident history

    7.0

On 20 September 2024 attackers drained about USD 43 million from hot wallets (CoinDesk, on-chain data; later estimates run higher). BingX said user assets were unimpaired and losses were covered from company reserves; major withdrawals resumed within about a day. Full coverage is stated by BingX but not independently audited.

  • Segregation of funds

    5.0

BingX states user assets are held at least 1:1 in its proof-of-reserves materials, but legal segregation of client assets is not confirmed by an independent audit.

  • Insurance fund

    8.0

Shield Fund of USD 150 million launched June 2025, composed of 1,000 BTC, 4,000 ETH and 40 million USDT, with View Wallet links on its Shield Fund page. Wallet balances were not independently checked here.

  • Security practices

    5.0

2FA available and, by BingX's statement, the majority of assets in cold wallets. The 2024 hot-wallet breach shows gaps; no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 report was found.
